Let me then explain a bit about my homeland, N. Lhohi. N. Lhohi is a tropical island located in the heart of N. Atoll. It's about 10 minutes ride away from the Maafaru International Airport. With the white sandy beach and it's coral reef garden, the island of Lhohi is a hotspot for reef fishes, occasional sharks and sea turtles. Here, children and youngsters spend most of their weekend snorkelling and hunting for octopus. The locals getaway for their daily dose of sun set or sun rise at the local beach. Moreover, there is an unspoilt uninhabited island right Infront! N. Vaadhoo where most locals access by row boat, dingy and sometimes even on the traditional sail boat. N. Vaadhoo, like Lhohi is surrounded by beautiful coral garden and a beautiful white sandy beach with tropical plants. 




N. Lhohi is also known as the "Banyan island" due to the vast amount of Banyan trees being dispersed in the island. Every morning you will see the homemakers and ladies of each household, cleaning the whole island, going to jungle looking the fallen coconut palm leaves for weaving, making the morning breakfast and collecting Maldivian nuts to make desserts.
