Rihaakuru

An array of birds

Thousand of birds soar  above the lush, green , island , majestically. They fly in continuous circles tirelessly circles tirelessly and easily . These birds own the island. They are seen all over the the island, flying , skipping, hopping, trotting or striding from the dense vegetation to the white sandy beaches. This island of vaadhoo is just 3 minutes distance away from the inhabited island of Lhohi in Noonu atoll. This place where some birds make their nests , raise their young , rest and sleep. It is an important nesting and roosting  for the birds. In addition , to the native birds of Maldives, many migratory birds also visit the island.
