Since the beginning of 2024, the Maldives has welcomed over 500,000 tourists, marking a significant milestone. As of March 17th, the total number of visitors to the island nation has reached 513,377, indicating a strong recovery in the tourism sector.
China has emerged as the leading source market for the Maldives, with 60,699 visitors, accounting for 11.8% of the total arrivals. Russia closely follows with 52,385 tourists, contributing to a market share of 10.2%. Italy also maintains a strong presence with 49,480 arrivals, representing 9.6% of the market, while the UK follows closely behind with 46,849 visitors, making up 9.1% of the total arrivals.
Germany, with 35,761 visitors, along with India, with 31,028 visitors, France, with 20,906 visitors, the United States, with 16,960 visitors, Poland, with 12,570 visitors, and Switzerland, with 11,787 visitors, have all made significant contributions to the tourism industry in the Maldives.

The average length of stay for tourists in the Maldives is currently 7.8 days, which demonstrates a notable increase in visitor numbers compared to previous years. This highlights the lasting allure of the Maldives as a top-notch vacation spot.
