Gaafaru

 #Gaafaru island in Kaafu atoll is a small fishing community of pious and good people. Gaafaru means literally CORAL REEF. 

Sailing boats in olden times spend sometime before leaving or just after travelling the Kaashidhoo Kandu (Channel) to supply freshwater and rest. The island lay in a separate natural atoll between North Male atoll and Kaashidhoo atoll.

 

I'm fascinated by the old town area with narrow sandy foot paths and laid with low roof houses belonging to ordinary people of this island. Old towns have separate houses and Badhige (kitchen) with public walkways in-between.
