Dhangethi as famous for" Handhu Runbaa' island. Handhu is the moon and Runbaa is container in Dhivehi. Long back, predecessors of Dhangethi, set sail for angling on a stunning night with the sky perfectly lit by a sickle moon.

That night, one angler on the vessel saw the impression of the moon in the container in the dhoni half loaded with water. He promptly shouted out and everybody was startled to see the Moon inside the container. Squandering no time, they put a top on the jug, fixed it safely and set sail to Male'. They needed to give the then King the moon as a blessing. When they achieved Male' and went to the lord and gave him the uplifting news, the ruler was fairly amazed. The King requesting that they indicate what they had and when they opened the jug, to the majority of their skepticism and misery, the moon had vanished.
